Play by email, is quite simply a game played via email. Your game turn is sent to you, via email, and you submit orders back via Email.
What is Clans?
Clans is a Fantasy Play By Email Game. You create a main leader, some secondary characters, name a village and start the game in the lands of Cardack.
I played Clans a long time ago as a play by mail game. Is this the same game?
Yes and No, Clans is indeed based on the old Play by mail game, and is by the same programmer. Clans has been completely rewritten, and is much better and bigger then the old play by mail game, with many new features added.
What do I need to play Clans?
Access to a computer, an email account, a Paypal account, or cheque book, a Web browser since your turn are sent as an html document, and an application to extract zip files, i.e WinZip or WinRAR.
Where can I get more information on how to play Clans?
See the main web-page, and download the rule book either as a pdf or a doc file.
How do I submit my orders?
Simply Click the Email us on the main page, Send an email with Orders in the subject, and make sure you follow the format of the orders showed in the rule-book.
How much does Clans cost, and what is the turnaround?
Your start up and your first three turns in Clans are free! So it's easy to try the game and see if you like it. After that, Clans costs £2.50 a turn, with a turn being processed, and sent every ten days.
How do I pay for Clans?
Click the Paypal link on the main page, and make sure specify your player number and game number.
I do not own a computer, can I still play Clans?
Yes, whilst Clans is a Play by Email game, We do provide turns printed, and mailed through the post, and accept orders and cheques through the post. Turns posted will cost £0.50 extra a turn though, due to extra costs incurred.
I cant get my graphics to be displayed on my turn sheet.
Make sure you have downloaded the common.zip from the main page, and unzipped it into the correct place. See the Rule book for more details.
What computer system / web browser will Clans work with?
Clans will work on ANY computer system, and with any web browser, if you think you have a set up it does not work on, click email us on the main page and provide us with any details.
I am new to this type of game, will I be out of my depth?
No, absolutely, not. Once you start the game you will be given quests, that will lead you through of the early game and make sure you know what to do early on, help you advance in rank, and help you learn the game.
